Toms work seeks to identify the ways that fundamental concepts of place impact human-ecological relationships in public places. The aim is to expand an understanding of public place beyond the traditions by which they are currently planned and designed. Drawing on theory from multiple disciplines Tom has experience designing and conducting research that facilitates a focus on ecological care.
